Surveys management and settings
After creating surveys, you can check their status and details, and make changes to them anytime in your methinks dashboard.
To check a survey status:
1. On your methinks dashboard click on the Survey drop-down menu.
2. Select Surveys.
3. On the main Surveys page, under Manage, you will find all of the surveys created for your research project and a summary of each survey details.
Overview
General surveys
Within every general survey section you will find information about:
- How many questions there are in the survey.
- Estimated time needed to complete the survey.
- How many participants have completed the survey.
- How many participants were the survey assigned to.
- If the survey is live, or if you still need to make the survey available/schedule a time for the survey to become available.
- Information about when the survey became/will become live and the survey end date if there’s any.
- If there’s a No Redo setup for the survey.
Pro tip: If No Redo is added to the survey settings participants will have only one chance to complete the survey.
App Test Surveys
Within every App Test Survey section you will find information about:
- How many questions there are in the survey.
- The type of event that triggers the survey.
Survey management
General Surveys
- To edit the survey title:
1. Choose the survey you want to edit and click on the three-dotted menu button.
2. Click on Edit Title.
2. Click on the text field and type in the text changes.
3. Click on Save.
- To edit the survey schedule:
1. Choose the survey you want to edit the schedule and click on the three-dotted menu button.
2. Click on Edit Schedule.
3. Click to edit the survey schedule.
4. Click on Save.
- To end the survey:
1. Choose the survey you want to end and click on the three-dotted menu button.
2. Click on End Survey.
3. You can make the survey available again anytime by clicking on Make Survey Available. Learn more about making surveys available.
- To select participants:
1. Choose the survey you want to select participants for and click on the three-dotted menu button.
2. Click on Select Participants.
3. Click to specify a target user for your survey. Select the checkbox to choose the best option for your survey.
All will make the survey available for all of the participants invited to your project thus far.
Selecting specific participants by checking their checkboxes will make the survey available only for the selected participants.
Select Available to all including any future participants to make the survey available to all participants recruiting thus far and for any future participants that may be invited to participate in your research project.
4. Click on Save. - To edit Survey Settings:
1. Choose the survey you want to edit the survey settings and click on the three-dotted menu.
2. Click on Survey Options.
3. Click on the text field to change the estimated time needed to complete the survey.
Allow re-submit:
1. Click to select the checkbox and allow participants to submit survey answers more than once.
Survey lock:
By selecting the Survey lock, participants will only able to access the survey after they have completed the App Session time requirement.
1. Click to select the checkbox.
2. Type into the text field to input the session time requirement.
- Click on Save.
- To duplicate a survey:
1. Choose the survey you want to duplicate and click on the three-dotted menu.
2. Click on Duplicate.
3. The duplicated survey will be called “Copy of + name of the original survey”.
- To copy a survey to another project:
1. Choose the survey you want to copy and click on the three-dotted menu.
2. Click on Copy.
3. Select the project you want to copy the survey to.
4. Click on Confirm.
5. Click on Confirm.
6. To go to the project you copied the survey to click on Go to project or click on Cancel to continue working on the project of the duplicated survey. - To download survey responses:
1. Choose the survey you want to download the participant’s responses from and click on the three-dotted menu.
2. Click on Download Responses. - To delete a survey:
1. Choose the survey you want to delete and click on the three-dotted menu.
2. Click on Delete Survey.
App Test Surveys
- To edit the survey title:
1. Choose the survey you want to edit and click on the three-dotted menu button.
2. Click on Edit Title.
3. Click on the text field and type in the text changes.
4. Click on Save. - To edit a survey trigger:
1. Choose the survey you want to edit the trigger and click on the three-dotted menu button.
2. Select Edit Trigger.
3. Click to select and make changes to the survey trigger type.
4. Click on Save. - To allow a user to skip an app test survey:
1. Choose the survey you want to allow users to skip and click on the three-dotted menu button.
2. Select Allow Skip. - To make a survey compulsory:
1. Choose the survey you want to make compulsory and click on the three-dotted menu button.
2. Select Make Required. - To duplicate a survey:
1. Choose the survey you want to duplicate and click on the three-dotted menu.
2. Click on Duplicate.
3. The duplicated survey will be called “Copy of + name of the original survey”. - To copy an app test survey to another project:
1. Choose the survey you want to copy and click on the three-dotted menu.
2. Click on Copy.
3. Select the project you want to copy the survey to.
4. Click on Confirm.
5. Click on Confirm.
6. To go to the project you copied the survey to click on Go to project or click on Cancel to continue working on the project of the duplicated survey. - To download app test survey responses:
1. Choose the survey you want to download the participant’s responses from and click on the three-dotted menu.
2. Click on Download Responses.
- To delete an app test survey:
1. Choose the survey you want to delete and click on the three-dotted menu.
2. Click on Delete Survey.
