How to add interview questions

During your video interviews on methinks, you can send interview questions for your participants to answer. To do so, you need to create and add interview questions before the interview session begins.

Learn how to send interview questions to participants during 1:1 and focus group interviews.

To add interview questions:

1. On the Home page click on Interview Questions:

2. Click on the + icon to add a new category and start adding interview questions.

3. Click on Create Questions.

4. Click the drop-down menu button to select the type of question you want to add.

Question types

Topic: Active this to inform the participants what the topic is during the interview.
1. Select Topic.
2. Click and type a topic.

Multiple choice: This question type asks respondents to select a single answer from the options provided.

1. Select Multiple Choice.
2. Add the question text on the question field and add the choices below.

To shuffle the order of choices check the box for Shuffle choice order. When this option is selected, participants will see the choices in random order when answering the survey.
To display answer choices as a collection using a wheel type display simply select the checkbox.
Predefined choices:
1. Check the box for Use predefined choices.
2. Click the dropdown menu button to choose from predefined values including countries, states, days, months, and occupation.
3. Click on View Details to view all predefined choices under each option.

Checkboxes: This question type allows respondents to select multiple answers from the options provided.

1. Select Checkboxes.
2. Add the question text on the question field and add the choices below.

Add an “Others” option: allows respondents to type out an additional response not provided in the choices. To add this option:
1. Click on Add an “Others” option.
To shuffle the order of choices check the box for Shuffle choice order. When this option is selected, participants will see the answers choices in random order when answering the survey.
To set the minimum and a maximum number of choices your participant should select check the box for Set range for required choices and select the desired minimum and maximum values.

Opinion - Scale: This question type asks respondents to provide their level of agreement or disagreement with a particular statement on a rating scale provided.
1. Select Scale - Opinion.
2. Add the question text to the question field.
3. Input the text for each point label (low point, midpoint, highpoint).

Likert - Scale: This question type asks respondents to provide their level of agreement or disagreement with a particular statement on a rating scale provided.

1. Select the Likert - Scale.
2. Add the question text to the question field.

3. Click the dropdown-menu button to specify the number of points on the scale.
4. Click to select between a 5 and 7-Points scales.

To edit the interview questions:
1. On the Home page click on Interview Questions.
2. Choose the category that corresponds to the questions you want to edit.
3. Click on Edit.

4. Make edits to the questions you want to change.
5. Click on Save.
To edit a categories name:
1. On the Home page click on Interview Questions.
2. Choose the category that you want to edit.
3. Click on the Edit pencil icon.

4. Click to make text changes.

5. Click on Update.
To share interview questions with your team:
1. On the Home page click on Interview Questions.
2. Choose the category that you want to share with the team.
3. Click on Share with the team.

By sharing Interview Questions, all team members in the project will be able to access the questions and send them to participants during video 1:1 and focus group interviews.
To delete the interview questions categories:
1. On the Home page click on Interview Questions.
2. Choose the category that you want to delete.
3. Click on the Trash icon.
